How To Get Started In The Film Business

Although they don’t get much glory, production assistants have played a key role in the making of just about every film, television, and video production. Frankly, it is very difficult to operate a successful production without Production Assistants.

A production assistant or PA is an entry-level position in the film industry. The production assistant must be creative, assertive, dependable, detailed and goal-orientated individual with excellent people skills that can carry out various tasks with grace and precision.

Although they don’t get much glory, production assistants have played a key role in the making of just about every film, television, and video production. Frankly, it is very difficult to operate a successful production without Production Assistants.

There are several different areas of film where you can get your start in the business. Starting as a production assistant, however, has proven to be the best. PAs are exposed to every aspect of the filming process. This gives them opportunity to interact with different departments and provides a broad scope of experience which is an asset when plotting a career path. The training you receive as a Production Assistant will prepare you immensely for your career goal.
